To have an effect on bias in news and opinion in regional news by educating readers on the organizations and individuals who produce that news, their biases and prejudices, and the methods used to influence readers in the direction of those biases and prejudices.

American Newspapers are Unfair to Republicans and Conservatives

My wife and I subscribe to 2 newspapers, the Brazosport Facts, and the Houston Chronicle.  We enjoy sitting down with a cup of coffee in the morning, reading about what goes on in our area, the comics, gardening, business, sports, and other sections.  The problem is that both of these papers are blatantly politically biased in favor of liberals and Democrats.

Since they both have what amounts to a monopoly on the news in their respective coverage areas, we think they have a moral responsibility to furnish their readers with news and opinion that is fair and balanced.  Personally, I don’t mind paying for the information they provide; I just don’t want to subsidize their political agenda to get it.

Americans must get the most accurate and un-biased news possible from their local and regional news sources.  ACIRN’s sole mission is to monitor closely those news sources, on a regional basis, and point out all instances of bias and misinformation, both to purveyor and users alike.

To do that, we’ll find out everything we can about the news organizations that we monitor, their owners, editors, and reporters, their circulation, their political connections, and we’ll emphasize dishonesty and hypocrisy when we see it.  We’ll ask to interview the editors and publishers of these papers, and ask the questions that they’re used to asking others.

    This should be interesting.
